The Red and Yellow Nothing
The Red and Yellow Nothing is a techno-medieval misadventure featuring Sir Morien, the eponymous black knight who features in a middle dutch Arthurian tale. Morien travels to Camelot to find his father and together with Sir Gawain and Sir Lancelot undergoes a series of adventures. The Red and Yellow Nothing is a prequel to that tale; it takes place in the dreamy pre-world before Morien enters literature, the manuscript and our modern imaginations.
The Red and Yellow Nothing was shortlisted for the Ted Hughes Award 2016, and was described as “a ride with the Valkyries” (Kathryn Williams), “dangerously alive” (Poetry Review), “wildly appealing” (Under the Radar) and “a rare and beautiful thing” (London Magazine).
